Football Futures: Young Leaders Camps & Workshops

Message from Frank Thompson, General Secretary of the Surrey Youth League.

All, The Surrey Youth League are committed to developing our players and helping them to be involved with running the game. Please see the PDF below which outlines the Football Futures Programme, this is an excellent opportunity for young people to be involved in football and also for those who are completing school or college based sport programmes to get some valuable experience in the world of football. I also enclose an application form.  The Football futures programme and the two courses below are a must for any young person wishing to add experience in the world of football to their C.V. They are both ideal precursor’s to the FA Level 1 Course and also the refereeing pathway.

We also have two events that go hand in hand with this programme that I would advise that you book on asap as there will be plenty of interest. You do not need any previous football coaching awards or experience.

Craig’s workshop will discuss the main principles of refereeing, offering an insight into the refereeing pathway and well as talking about the main issues the Man in the Middle has to cope with before and after the final whistle.

Futsal
Futsal, a fast and more skilful version of 5-a-side football, is taking Surrey by storm with the County FA running adult and junior leagues and tournaments throughout 2013. A session on the game will be delivered by The Tesco Skills Team and will offer an introduction to Futsal through playing actual matches – so please remember to bring your trainers, as well as your best tricks and flick!
