PARENTS
I have been asked by our coaches to email regarding bringing dogs to Saturday morning training. Although many of you already comply with our request, and tether your dog, there have been cases of dogs being allowed to run through their sessions, causing disruption and indeed anxiety for the some of the boys. The dogs are also inclined to foul equipment and belongings.
Dogs are welcome at our sessions however, as part of the club’s Code of Conduct and in order for the training sessions to continue, we ask that all our members comply with our very reasonable request to keep their dogs under control and on leads in our designated areas whilst training is in progress. Coaches will stop sessions until they are satisfied their session can continue without disruption from untethered dogs. No doubt that won’t be popular with other parents, nor the boys.
Although Palewell Common is open to the public, it should be noted that these training areas are for the sole use of Sheen Lions FC on Saturday mornings from 9.00am – 12.30am. They are designated sports areas, given over to us by Richmond Borough Council as our official training ground, and are paid for by Sheen Lions F.C.
We would ask the same on HOME match days regarding keeping dogs under control. Your compliance will be greatly appreciated by everyone at the club.
Thank you
Regards

Once again we want your old used football boots. We will donate (along with our used football shirts) to a charity that distributes used boots both here at home, as well as abroad.
Please deliver your CLEAN boots to:
16 Stanley Road

There is a white cupboard outside the front door. They can be left there.
If you live at distance, talk to your manager who will no doubt be able to help with delivery.
We are collecting from now until the end of October ONLY.

Anthony & I had the pleasure of taking the highly talented U8’s to play against Barnes Eagles.
The boy’s started on the front foot against a good Barnes team and never looked back.
As a coach Anthony was literally made redundant, all he could do was watch in admiration. I think I had to pick his jaw off the floor a couple of times.
All six players were naturally gifted & were happy to showcase this. In today’s language they were simply sick.
The U8’s squads as a whole are very exciting at the moment a lot of credit has to go to their coaches.
“In all the 19 years that I’ve been at Sheen Lion’s this team is by a country mile the best team I’ve ever seen“.
Thanks again to all the parents and boys who came and made it a good day.
Coach Michael.

Sheen lions U7’s boy’s took part in a friendly match at home to Barnes eagles on Sunday 1st October.
The boy’s showed great character and organisation in their first friendly match ever. As the match went on the boys grew into it and thankfully replicated what they do at training.
“It was fantastic to see them improve during the match and scoring goals“.
Thanks to the parents for their vocal support and their dodgy remix of Heads And Shoulders Knees And Toes.
Coach Anthony.

Sheen lions U7’s boy’s took part in a tournament at Westside on Saturday 30th September.
All twelve boy’s really impressed Michael and me as well as the parents and the opposition coaches.
“Their positive attitude, discipline and quality performances were evident for all to see”.
Thank you to all the boys and parents for a great day.
Anthony.
