Former Sheen Lion Expected to Play Against ManU

We are expecting a Sheen Lions interest in the FA cup replay between Manchester United and Cambridge United on Tuesday at Old Trafford.

Former Sheen Lion Harrison Dunk is the Cambridge No 11 and has played for them since 2011. Harrison started his football with Sheen Lions and played through with us until U16 in the same team as Sarah’s younger boy.

We wish Harrison and Cambridge luck for the replay.

U18 Lions Reach County Cup Semies

Well done to our U18 Lions squad and their coach Michael Morgan, an emphatic 7-0 win yesterday against Knaphill Athletic take them through to the Surrey County Cup semi finals.

The U18s are prolific scorers in this competition with wins of 2-5, 1-5, 8-2 and now 7-0 but they will face strong opposition in the semis draw where they are in the pot with Abbey Rangers, Westside Boys and Frimley Green.

Good luck in the next round and in the Premier league where the squad are also playing well with P11, W9, D1, L1 and a goal difference of +24.

Parking At Palewell

On a typical Sunday four or five hundred people come to Palewell for the football and this puts a lot of pressure on the parking.

Please make sure that you park legally, if you do not then you are very likely to be ticketed. It may appear to you that cars can still get by but there must be access all the way down the road for emergency vehicles including large fire engines.

Cars double/triple parked, particularly in the area where the two entrance roads meet are likely to be ticketed and possibly clamped or towed.

Sheen Lions U11 and Woking Cougars – 1914 Football Truce

The First World War broke out 100 years ago in 1914. The opposing armies quickly became bogged down in trench warfare.  Around the first Christmas many unofficial ceasefires broke out along the front and men from both sides mingled in no man’s land.  Famously some football matches were held between the lines and football has decided to unite to remember this spirit with photos of both teams together.

Well done to our U11 Lions for taking part.
