Save Your Old Boots

SHEEN LIONS FC SUPPORTS …

Just a heads up…..
Each year in September we collect your unwanted football boots 
and send them on for a new life…  
and this year we’d love your football shirts too!
Our 2014 collection will go to to Kits4Causes who will put them to good use. 
 
Hold on to your old football boots and 
your outgrown personal football shirts (not Sheen Lions ones!)
and wait for details of our September collection.

Presentation Evening – Send In Your Bookings

Remember that all registered players must return their Presentation Evening booking forms with their vote for their Players’ Player by FRIDAY 25th April AT THE LATEST.

Sheen Lions U18 2014-15

There will be a meeting for ALL current (season 2013-14) U16s and U18s players on Palewell Common on Tuesday 22nd April at 6.30pm. The meeting will be followed by a training session.

The turn out will give the club a good indication of the boys commitment and how serious they are about continuing.

Any new boys who are keen to join next season  are welcome.

Sports Relief

 

Sports Relief 2014

 

Sheen Lions will make a donation to Sports Relief, just as we did for Children in Need. Every goal scored this Sunday by Sheen Lions will rack up £5. Every clean sheet will rack up the same.

So tell the boys to get those special goal/scoring boots on!!!

Saturday Training Moved – Sunday Pitches Closed 15th-16th Feb

Due to the ground conditions Palewell pitches are closed again this weekend. There can be NO TRAINING and NO MATCHES at Palewell on 15th – 16th February.

Sarah has arranged for Saturday morning training to be held at the Bank Of England Sports Club. This post will be updated with details once available.

Please note for Sunday matches Managers now need to ask their opposition if they can host the game. You must wait till you hear from your Manager before you know for sure that you are not playing.

Saturday Training Moved – Sunday Pitches Closed 8th-9th Feb

Due to the ground conditions Palewell pitches are closed again this weekend. There can be NO TRAINING and NO MATCHES at Palewell on 8th – 9th February.

Sarah has arranged for Saturday morning training to be held at Richmond Park Academy. Training for all age groups (U7 to U11) will take place at the same time between 9:00 and 10:30 am. Note in particular:

  • Gates open at 08:30, be early for a prompt start
  • NO PARKING on site but plenty in Hertford Avenue and surrounding streets.
  • Astro turf pitch, so correct footwear for this surface. Studs are not allowed and you will just slip!
  • Only coaches, managers and players are allowed on the pitch, parents must stay outside the fence.

New All Weather Boots For Sheen Lions

With so many games lost Sheen Lions will be encouraging all its players to buy new boots that are more suitable for current conditions so we can get some games on.

The recommended boots have the additional advantage of integrated shin pads and guarantee that laces will not come undone during the match.

No Training Or Home Games 1st – 2nd February

Due to the ground conditions LBRUT have informed us that the Palewell pitches are closed again this weekend. There can be NO TRAINING and NO MATCHES at Palewell on 1st – 2nd February.

Please note that Managers now need to ask their opposition if they can host the game. You must wait till you hear from your Manager before you know for sure that you are not playing.

These are exceptional conditions, Palewell has been closed for four out of the five weekends so far in 2014 and the forth weekend was also limited, with the early games being called off due to freezing conditions.
